TEMA Open Demo Days: Emergency Practitioners Invited to Test Advanced Crisis Management Technologies

TEMA Open Demo Days

Emergency management practitioners across Europe are invited to participate in the TEMA Open Demo Days, taking place from 25 May to 07 June 2026. Organised within the Horizon Europe-funded project TEMA (Trusted Extremely Precise Mapping and Prediction for Emergency Management), the initiative offers civil protection professionals, first responders and crisis management stakeholders the opportunity to access and test advanced decision-support technologies through realistic operational scenarios.

The TEMA project is developing an integrated platform designed to support emergency preparedness, response and coordination through the use of artificial intelligence, predictive modelling, geospatial intelligence and advanced data analysis. By combining different data sources and operational tools within a single environment, TEMA aims to improve situational awareness and support faster, more informed decision-making during crises such as floods and wildfires.

The Open Demo Days represent an important step in the project’s pathway towards operational adoption. Rather than a static presentation of project results, the initiative is designed as a hands-on testing environment where practitioners can independently explore the platform through a web-based smart desk and interact with realistic emergency scenarios.

Participants will be able to test functionalities linked to:

  • situational awareness and monitoring
  • predictive mapping and forecasting
  • operational coordination
  • decision-support workflows
  • integrated crisis data visualisation

The activity is intended to provide practitioners with direct experience of how emerging technologies can support operational workflows and crisis management activities in practice. At the same time, feedback collected during the Open Demo Days will contribute to the ongoing refinement and exploitation of the platform.

Participation is open to:

  • civil protection authorities
  • fire and rescue services
  • emergency medical services
  • law enforcement agencies
  • public authorities
  • emergency management researchers and innovators
  • relevant operational stakeholders

To launch the initiative, TEMA will organise an open webinar on Friday 22 May 2026 at 11:00 CET. The webinar will introduce the TEMA platform, explain how participants can access the Open Demo Days and provide an overview of the available operational scenarios and functionalities.

Throughout the two-week period, participants will be able to access the platform remotely and test scenarios at their own pace.

The Open Demo Days also contribute to strengthening collaboration between technology developers and operational communities across Europe by ensuring that innovation is tested in realistic use contexts and aligned with practitioner needs.

Registration for the TEMA Open Demo Days is free of charge. You can register here.
