4th AI Community Workshop & AIDA Symposium

Description

The European Networks of Excellence in AI and Robotics (AI NoEs) will organise their 4th AI Community Workshop on June 26, 2024, followed by the AIDA Symposium on June 27, 2024. Both events will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece, kindly hosted by the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), the coordinator of AI4Media.

This two-day gathering is designed to enhance collaboration among the AI NoEs community members and other stakeholders. It offers an excellent platform to discuss current AI trends, tackle challenges, and share innovative ideas.

On the first day, the 4th AI Community Workshop will cover a range of significant topics concerning AI research and innovation, designed to foster dialogue and collaboration among experts and stakeholders in the AI field. On the second day, the AIDA Symposium promises to be an excellent opportunity for knowledge sharing among AI researchers and practitioners.

During the AIDA Symposium “AI Education Beyond Borders”, part of the 4th European AI Network of Excellence Community Workshop, TEMA project will sponsor the panel "First responders education on AI for natural disaster management"!

The panel will include interventions from exceptional experts in diverse fields of AI application:

🔸 Wojciech Samek, Prof. Dr., Head of the AI department at the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI, outlines the benefits of using explainable AI to harness the benefit of the technology for natural disaster management.

🔸 Ilaria Mariani, Ph.D, Researcher at the Politecnico di Milano, Master AI4Gov_EU, GovTech Connect and Orbis Project, sheds lights on the AI competencies in the public sector.

🔸 Aleksi Kopponen, Director of Digital Transformation at the Tampereen kaupunki - City of Tampere, brings the example of the Skills and Competences Development Programme of the Data-Driven City for Citizens (City of Tampere).

🔸 Anna Pizzamiglio (she/her) from The Lisbon Council Council, policy impact partner in TEMA project, brings together the various perspectives under the European Union Digital Skills policy.

🔹 The panel will be moderated by Alessandro Paciaroni from The Lisbon Council Council, research & advocacy associate at TEMA project.
